Indonesia Mpox Screening at Bali Airport
Vice Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono stated that the screening process is crucial for maintaining public health and preventing the introduction of mpox into the country. While the government will not impose restrictions on foreign nationals, all international passengers with a body temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius will be required to undergo swab testing. If a positive mpox result is detected, the individual will receive appropriate hospital care. The government has assured that the screening process will not disrupt the travel experience for other passengers. Indonesia has reported a total of 88 mpox cases since the virus was first detected in the country in 2022. All cases were concentrated on the island of Java, and all patients have recovered.
